Please plan to join us at the annual meeting for an exciting and stimulating session where students will discuss some of the major bioethical issues we face as a technological society. As stated below in the Essay Topic Session, students have written about such topics as artificial organs, genetically modified organisms, and the ethics of biotechnology in agriculture.

Eighty-five entries have been submitted for the 2006-2007 Bioethics Essay Contest. The blinded essays will be reviewed by a panel of judges who will select five semifinalists who will be given complimentary registration to the 2007 Annual Meeting (March 30 - April 1, 2007 in St. Louis). The five semifinalists will be notified by January 7, 2006. The semifinalists will read their essays at the annual meeting of IBE in the Bioethics General Session and judges will select the finalists.

The students in biological engineering, biology, and other related fields have some very interesting views on current issues. Come and be a part of the excitement.
