  • Plan to arrive on Thursday, March 6, 2008 to join us for the Biogen Idec tour, participate in the Job Fair, hear a special presentation about the Research Triangle Park and attend a Welcome Reception.
  • Biogen Idec Tour – Arrive early and join us for a tour of Biogen Idec! The company is one of a handful of biotechnology/pharmaceutical companies that has three licensed and dedicated biological bulk-manufacturing facilities, including its large-scale manufacturing plant in Research Triangle Park, NC, which is one of the world's largest cell culture facilities.
  • The tour is scheduled for Thursday, March 6 at 2:00 pm EST. There is no fee for the tour and transportation will be provided. Space is limited and available on a first come, first serve basis! Remember to add the tour to your shopping cart when completing your registration. If you have already submitted your conference registration, please email Sarah Clements to register for the tour. Registered attendees will receive additional information about departure time, pick up location, etc prior to the conference.
  • History of the Research Triangle Park - Have you ever asked yourself “how did the Research Triangle Park become a reality?” and “what does the future hold for the Research Triangle Park?” Representatives from the past, present and future development of the park have the answers. Please join us for a special presentation on Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 4:00 pm EST at the Sheraton Chapel Hill. The presenters will share their stories and personal experiences with the IBE members about the conception, development and implementation of the park. The presentation will be followed by a Welcome Reception. Both events are a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear and talk about this exclusive business venture that continues to play a significant role in the research efforts and growth of major corporations.
  • Keynote Presentation - Angela M Belcher, PhD, Germeshausen Professor of Materials Science and Engineering, and Biological Engineering at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology is scheduled to kickoff the 2008 Annual Conference on Friday, March 7, 2008. IBE is thrilled to be hosting Dr Belcher and we are looking forward to an extremely informative opening general session.
